Become an AmeriCorps Member with the High Point Housing Authority

Are you ready to stand out from the crowd? Do you want to become an AmeriCorps member and gain valuable skills, build lasting relationships, receive an education award and receive a living allowance? If so, the AmeriCorps program is providing opportunities for you through the High Point Housing Authority (HPHA).

Developing Opportunities to Excel "Project D.O.E." is an eleven-agency, eight-county regional AmeriCorps project supported by a $334,776 grant from the North Carolina Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service in the Office of Governor Pat McCrory. Project D.O.E. will utilize 47 AmeriCorps members and 400 community volunteers to provide access to services for economically disadvantaged youth and adults.

The HPHA is one of the Project D.O.E. collaborating agencies that are currently accepting applications from persons interested in becoming an AmeriCorps member.

The AmeriCorps program provides opportunities to give back to your community while improving the quality of life for youth and adults. If you are committed, energetic, a high school

graduate or have your GED, at least 17 years of age, then the HPHA would like to talk with you about additional criteria to be considered for this wonderful opportunity. Contact Avis Robinson, Vice President of Resident Services, at 336/878-2335 for more information.

Angela G. McGill, HPHA’s CEO says, "We are elated about this opportunity to provide another avenue to empower lives and build foundations. We are grateful for the North Carolina Commission on Volunteerism and Community Services and believe its investment will provide opportunities for a successful future for many."
