Wells Fargo Housing Foundation Awards Grant in Support of the Housing Counseling Program
Low income Housing Opportunities, Inc. (LIHO), the non-profit affiliate of the Housing Authority of the City of High Point (HPHA), is pleased to announce that Wells Fargo Housing Foundation has awarded a grant of $7,000 in support of the agency’s housing counseling program.
As an U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved housing counseling agency, the HPHA provides services to clients in the areas of individual/group counseling, pre- and post-purchase counseling, foreclosure intervention and default counseling. In addition to these services, families in the local community are encouraged to participate in five-week financial literacy classes which assist them in making positive changes in their personal financial habits. These classes are available to everyone, free of charge, and offered twice each quarter throughout the year.
With the support of Wells Fargo Housing Foundation, the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency Housing Counseling Capacity Building Program and HUD, the LIHO Housing Counseling Program continues to assist families to make sound economic decisions and to attain or maintain the dream of homeownership. The HPHA is grateful for the support of Wells Fargo Housing Foundation in support of this vital program that will be beneficial to many of our citizens requiring assistance.
For more information on the housing counseling services offered at HPHA, call 336-887-2661.
